A very similar debate happened with copyrighted digital content, then with adblockers, and now with AI extracting ideas from content.

– People wanted to read free online copies of content with ads,
– Then people wanted to remove the ads to get the content,
– Now people just want to extract the ideas with AI from the content.
– Maybe in a few years people will want to get the ideas directly into their brains?

Each time there was an army of copywriters claiming it was the end of the world, it was unfair, they are stealing from us, blah blah…

The idea that AI (or any form of technology for that matter) needs to be “controlled” and “censored” to protect the rights of certain business models is delusional. There’s no way to stop the inevitable: copyright will have to be completely reinvented.
